What is Coaching?

Coaching is about developing individual awareness and responsibility. It is about encouraging people to think for themselves and to learn from their experience.  A coach offers collaborative counsel and support that is not otherwise offered in many law firms.  A skilled coach will work with clients to assess individual circumstances, strengths, weaknesses, and developmental opportunities.

The International Coaching Federation (ICF) defines coaching as “partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.”  In the law firm setting, we find highly educated, talented professionals who need challenges and opportunities for growth.  They need feedback, guidance, and a sounding board.  Law firms rely on self-starters who take responsibility and who are demonstrably confident. These are skills and abilities that can be developed through coaching.

Our coaching is collaborative work between client and coach aimed at achieving sustainable effectiveness in the client’s life and career through focused learning.  The coach’s sole aim is to work with the client to achieve all of the client’s potential – as defined by the client.  The coach provides the process and frameworks and the client sets the agenda.

Professional leadership coaching is for individuals who wish to improve some aspect of their work life.  Whether you are interested in improving your confidence, growing leadership capability, or desire to improve your effectiveness with your team, we can work with you to design your desired future.

What is Neuroleadership Coaching?

We approach coaching with a 'whole person' perspective using brain science as a backdrop.  NeuroLeadership Coaching is a one-on-one, collaborative relationship between a coach and a client in a leadership role who is primarily focused on increasing their effectiveness in a business setting using knowledge and techniques from the fields of neuroscience. As a certified trained coach, Nancy Manzo employs the 'leading from behind' methodology as developed by The Hudson Institute, wherein the relationship is a partnership.  The coach facilitates an environment conducive to the client clarifying, aligning and accomplishing personal and professional goals, subsequently adding a greater sense of joy to their lives.
